On day 8, we took our jeep tour of Canyon De Chelly. The jeep had over 200,000 darn hard miles on it but it made it. Our tour guide was a Navajo who's name is Dilbert (I kid you not) and he was great. He farms his family's land in the canyon and thrilled us with stories of rescuing people, or retrieving the bodies of outsiders who make small mistakes, like fall off the 900 foot rock walls.

After the jeep tour, we hiked from the top, down the one path open to the public (without Navajo guides) and back up. Whew!

Then onto Grants, for our final day.
