Licensing & Authorization

Review and approval processes ensure that an institution meets recognized standards. An approval agency is an independent body charged with objectively determining whether an organization meets these professional standards. Approval communicates to the public that an institution has met accepted standards and assures prospective students that the courses and programs offered are of high quality and value.

North Carolina Board of Community Colleges
The Animal Behavior Institute is licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges having met the requirements of Article 8 of Chapter 115D of the General Statutes of North Carolina. Please note that the NC State Board of Community Colleges is not an accrediting agency.

IACET
The Animal Behavior Institute has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102; (703) 506-3275.  In obtaining this approval, the Animal Behavior Institute has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. As a result of their Authorized Provider accreditation status, the Animal Behavior Institute is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.

AALAS
Many courses satisfy AALAS (American Association for Laboratory Animal Science) standards and requirements and provide continuing education credits for eligible laboratory animal science professionals.

AAVSB
Selected courses are pre-approved for use as continuing education credits for veterinarians and veterinary technicians by The American Association of Veterinary State Boards' Registry of Approved Continuing Education (ABI provider number = 238). Each approved course meets the requirements for 10 hours of continuing education credit in all jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB's RACE approval.

CCPDT
The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) has approved the Animal Training program at the Animal Behavior Institute for CCPDT Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The CCPDT is an international testing and certification program for professional pet dog trainers.

California Department of Fish and Game
The California Fish and Game Wildlife Rehabilitation Coordinator has approved the use of our course “Principles of Wildlife Rehabilitation” course to satisfy the continuing education requirements for professional wildlife rehabilitators.

IWRC
The Certification Review Board of the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council has approved the use of our course “Principles of Wildlife Rehabilitation” to satisfy the continuing education requirements for nationally certified wildlife rehabilitators.

MyCAA
ABI is an Approved Education Provider for the Department of Defense's Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program. This program provides educational funding for qualified military spouses.

BBB
The Animal Behavior Institute is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau, a business organization that affirms that our institution meets and abides by the Code of Business Practices.
