Professor Brisson currently works in Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health. She has had extensive work, volunteer, academic, and research experience pertaining to animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted activities.
Professor Brisson has worked with therapy dog organizations for over 20 years. In addition to her work in animal assisted interventions (AAI), she has conducted research on the impact of therapy and service dogs on individuals. She has used AAI to help elementary students learn to read, to assist service members diagnosed with medical and psychiatric conditions, and to provide companionship to older adults in nursing homes. Her breadth of training and experience make her an invaluable addition to our faculty.
